Spring Break in California

We spent last week in California over spring break, and we had a blast! Mark needed to fly down to Los Angeles for work that week, so we tagged along to spend some quality time with my dear friend Trina and her family. Ever since Trina moved from Washington, I have missed her so much. We were all thrilled to make this happen!

Our family absolutely loved every minute of our time in California (minus getting through the airports with a two-year old). On our first day there, which was a Sunday, Mark and Eric took the bigger girls to Disneyland - Ruthie was on Cloud 9... A day with dad, one of her oldest friends, McKenzie, and Disneyland. Ruthie LOVED all of the thrilling rides, Mark said she liked the Teacups and Splash Mountain most. After the group arrived back at Trina's in the evening, Ruthie said she didn't want to go to sleep because she didn't want to forget a single thing about her day. Happy memories. :) Monday through Wednesday we enjoyed quality time with Trina's family in her neighborhood and home. It was a joy to spend time with their children, especially our Goddaughter, Everly. It was sweet to see into their lives, where the kids attend school, Trina's walking routes, etc. Wednesday afternoon we drove to Newport Beach, it was refreshing to see the ocean, and we had awesome weather for it! After the sun went down, we drove out of our way to dine at Pita Jungle, (this was our favorite small restaurant chain in Arizona that is now beginning to expand into California) cilantro hummus, YUM! On our last day, we rocked Knott's Berry Farm. Leah loved the airplane and semi-truck rides the most. Ruth loved the roller coasters! After dozens of amusement rides the day was done and we drove to the airport. The week felt like a good combo of friends, family and fun. Can't wait to make it happen again!

A huge thank you to Trina for being an amazing hostess, from the sweet welcome banner sign to our preferred coffee and vegan snacks - Trina thought of everything. Lucky us. The Anderson's feel like family, we are so grateful to have them in our lives.  THANK YOU, Trina and Eric!
