Leah Turns Three

Leah turned three at the end of August, and we had so much fun celebrating her special days!  On the Sunday before her birthday we rented Gymboree Play & Music so Leah could celebrate and play with her little friends.  Most of the younger siblings from the Moms group were there, and no big kids were allowed!  Leah absolutely loved the undivided attention and playtime, and we are so grateful Ruthie was able to hang out with Uncle Maslow & Auntie Jenna during the party.  Having one-on-one time with Leah was fabulous!  On Leah's actual birthday, she awoke in the morning to fun new presents - a scooter, new toys and books.  Later in the day we met Dad for lunch at Rainforest Cafe.  A fun day was had by all, and it was great that we could shower Leah with love!  Thank you to everyone who gave Leah little presents and attention, she loved each and every thing!

Leah also just experienced her three-year-old wellness exam.  Doc says she's doing great!  She's above 90th percentile for height, 46th percentile in weight and growing at a good trajectory.  We are so proud of her.  We did discuss increasing her protein (the girl needs to grow some more hair!) and continued the dialogue of getting this girl to eat more.  We also started the conversation of weaning the thumb sucking... That's a journey we'll go on with our dentist.  She did great with all the developmental questions and performance questions, and overall our doctor thinks Leah is doing really well.  Leah hated having two vaccines at the end of the visit... boo.

Leah at THREE.  Leah snoozes in the mornings.  She's slowly giving up naps.  She just started afternoon pre-school twice/week.  Leah loves her satin-edged lovies, and she loves stuffed animals.  Leah and Ruth have been playing really nicely together, and they're both pleased that Leah can keep up with their games and backyard imaginary adventures.  Leah is fully potty trained - wahoo!  Leah likes to write and draw, and she's just started printing her name.  Leah is still our silly beans girl... For example, if you sit down with her looking at books and you ask her to point to an animal such as a zebra, she'll giggle and point to every single animal except the zebra - until she's laughing hysterically.  Leah loves her cousin Charlotte.  Leah adores her Godmother, sometimes calling her "her other mother", Kathy.  And Leah adores her Dad, running to the door screaming when Mark gets home every day.  Leah loves books, and can sit through almost any length story, and also has the patience for Ruth to read to her.  We fall more in love with Leah every day and are over the moon that she's so darn cute.  We love you Leah!!!
after her birthday party, all smiles.
