Ruthie's First Swim Meet

Ruth participated in her first competitive swim meet for the Samena Swim Team!  As a beginner she was overwhelmed with the crowds and bustling of a typical swim meet, but she dove and swam when it was her time and absolutely did her best.  Ruth participated in the following three age 8 & under events: Medley Relay, 25 Freestyle and 25 Backstroke.  She didn't have competitive times to enter prior to the meet, so she swam in the first light heats, which was great, as it gave her confidence for winning her individual heats.  This was also great practice to learn the rules and seriousness of swim meets, she turned onto her belly during backstroke before she touched the finish wall (a big no, no), and learned how important precision is.  She enjoyed the experienced overall, liked hanging out with her friend Noe, and is looking forward to winning more races!  Way to go, Ru!
