January 7th, 2014

The sky was gray and rainy yesterday, much like our hearts burdened with heartbreaking news.  Yesterday we lost Mark's cousin, Nick, as well as my maternal Grandmother, Harriet.  Hearing the news of each of their deaths, just hours apart, both from cancer, shook our world in such a subtle and sad way.  As the hours of the day moved through, I found a bible passage that soothed my soul.  This was one of my Grandma's favorite bible verses, I found scribbled onto one of the many cards she has mailed me over the years. "He knows those who take refuge in Him", Nahum 1:7b.  It has fit the mood for our hearts perfectly, and become a wonderful mantra to recite.  Pray with us as we grieve and adapt to a world without these two beautiful souls.
