Ruthie joined the Cross Country team at her school, and today she ran in her first meet! The distance was 1/2 mile, through Woodland Park in Seattle; however, it was pouring rain for the entire meet and the kids were drenched! BUT, Ruthie was a champ and maintained a positive attitude. All of the Seattle area catholic schools come together for the meets, so there was a ton of people. She ran only against other Kindergarten girls. You'll spot her in a pink and white polkadotted hoodie with a red St. Louise Chargers uniform on top. She started and finished in the middle of the pack, and looked quite in shock over the whole experience, but was mostly smiles and thumbs up afterwards. Ruth particularly enjoyed the social aspect, she loves hanging out with Brooke (another girl from her class at school). After the race, we celebrated her first meet with a box of vegan donuts from our favorite Seattle donut shop! Way to go, Ruthie! We can't wait to watch you run again.
