Ruthie's First Year of Preschool

Ruthie finished her first year of preschool! Attending school twice each week for 3 hours at a time was a big adjustment for us, but the year went smoothly for Ruth and she loves school (hooray)! It was an amazing year filled with friends, memories and lots of learning. Ruthie has gained a solid grasp on many pre-reading skills, is learning to socialize in a group setting, and her swimming skills have soared (the preschool Ruth attends includes swimming as part of the curriculum). We are so proud of Ruth, she is such a smart girl, and can't wait to see where this life takes her!

Here are a few photos I took during the last week of school. The first is one of Ruth with her favorite school friends, Carrie and Anika. The social aspect of school has and will probably always be a huge part of the experience for Ruthie. She loves her little girlfriends, tells me countless stories about their adventures on the playground, and always shares with me details of their days and conversations. One of our daily routines upon school pick-up was when Ruth and these two girls would run down the hallway giggling and "hiding" from the Moms under a bench by the fish tank. I will miss seeing these three in action! The second snapshot is of Ruth with her teacher, Ms. Sherie. We adore Ruth's teacher, she is an amazing early childhood educator, imaginative, hands-on, creative and fun - Ruthie loves doing messy art and being silly with her teachers. And I can't forget to mention that Ms. Sherie has a huge heart for her students. We are grateful that Ruth always feels secure, safe and loved when with her teacher, and most thankful that her introduction to school has been positive and enlightening! We are grateful Ruthie will have Ms. Sherie as her teacher for another year for one more year of the 3-5 yr. old program. We are already looking forward to September, meeting new friends and learning more and more!
