Last Saturday we spent the day in Ellensburg celebrating the life of a loved one who had passed away, we will forever miss
Gene Grunden. Gene was very much a father figure for Mark during his younger years, Gene taught Mark how to play baseball, how to ride a bike, all about coin and stamp collecting, and many more formative "boy stuff". We will always be grateful for the part of his life he shared with Mark and his siblings. Mark helped to organize a memorial day of reminiscing, sprinkling of ashes, and quality time spent with other people who loved Geno. The day was overall a happy one, and provided great closure for the family. It was also a nice opportunity to visit with Mark's sister's family, who are visiting from California. Ruthie enjoyed playing with her cousins throughout the day, and wouldn't leave until the entire day was through. Here are a few family snapshots from the sunny day we spent in Eastern Washington in honor of Geno!

What a great family we have become--thank you Gene for your fatherly influence on my children and for being a wonderful friend to me.
What a beautiful family photo. So sorry for your loss.
