This past weekend I made it through some potentially very tough motherhood "firsts"! Thanks to the love and encouragement of Mark, and our good friends Tyler & Molly who were in town visiting, breaking down in tears didn't happen, rather feelings of triumph and hope resulted.
Motherly First 1: I left Ruth at home with Mark for an hour, leaving her for the "first time".
Motherly First 2: I took Ruthie out in public for the "first time".
And lastly, and most proudly, we took her to our favorite park for an extended walk (just 1/2 mile, which is incredibly longer than ever before) for the "first time".
All of these moments gripped me with fear, but resulted in pride and joy. I'm beginning to feel that I can handle this monumental thing called, "Motherhood", without being chained to the house! Yippee!
