The girls were dropped off at the Warren's house (thank you for babysitting on my birthday, Kristy), so I could enjoy a few hours with Mark. We had a nice midday date, these are rare, so we really cherished it. Loved chatting over lunch at our favorite vegan restaurant in Seattle, Plum Bistro. The tables are tiny at this restaurant, and the intimacy was perfect for a birthday lunch. Here's a picture of an all-time favorite Plum dish, the Mama Africa salad, it always hits the spot! After a nice meal we drove to the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum at Seattle Center. It was a great thing to do on a day without children in tow and a radiant sun glistening off the unique glass pieces in the garden. We highly recommend the museum, it's a must-see!
After getting back home with the girls, and some much needed quiet time, Mark sent me off to shop (thank you, Jen!) and dine with some of my closest friends. The night finished off with a huge slice of chocolate cake at PF Changs - we ate, drank and were merry for hours! I'm so grateful to have had a break from the sometimes mundane daily grind with wee ones, it's days and moments like these that make it all worthwhile. Here's to another healthy and happy year of life! :)

Thanks for sharing about your birth day activities. It sounds and looks like you both had a great time. Didn't know there was a Chihuly museum at the Seattle Center. He's got a lot of pieces at and around the Tacoma Art Museum as well. Would love to check out the Plum Bistro sometime. Your salad looks delicious. Glad you had a memorable day.
