Our sweet Leah is growing and changing so quickly! I rarely find the time to sit down and document her life, but she's a true gem in our family and it has been fun to see her grow and change. Here are the things she's been doing lately... Leah is currently 19 months old!
- Teething! Leah currently has 10 teeth, and she's working on two additional molars (c'mon already - yawn!!!).
- Babbling and talking, Leah is always saying things! Her favorite words are "Mamma, Dadda, Sissy, Sam, no, socks, shoes, and lots of other little short words. She has begun saying phrases, for example: "ducks in the water", "Bye bye Sissy" or "white shoes". She loves to try new words. She can say the word "necklace" so sweetly!
- Toys. Leah loves her Little People cars and often lines them all up in a row. Leah still loves Mr. Potato Head, and will plop down immediately if I tell her I'm going to get it set up. She is often clutching a stuffed animal or dolly walking around the house looking for fun. Lift-the-flap books are her #1 favorite literature. Leah still sucks her thumb with her "la-la" (satin edged lovie blanket). She enjoys outdoor toys, the big car, sandbox and sidewalk chalk in particular.
- Doggie radar. Leah loves puppies and dogs and can spot them from afar at any given time. We are often out on walks or drives when she lights up over seeing a dog.
- Shoes, shoes, shoes. Leave a shoe or sandal anywhere - and Leah will find it, try it on and wear it around the house. Just today she woke up from her nap madly crying because I had taken her new shoes off while she was sleeping, she insisted they be put back on immediately!
- Dislikes. Leah still does not like to brush her teeth. She is furious when we take her out of the carseat and won't let her play in the driver's seat of the car. Leah puts up a little battle at bedtime, but after a few minutes of rocking, she calms down and realizes the day is done. Leah is a picky eater, and will yell at you if only veggies are presented on her plate (she prefers starch and fruit!).
- Sleeping. Leah is still napping at this point, she sleeps around 10-11 hours at night and 1-2 hours in the daytime. I hope the naps remain through the start of Ruth's kindergarten year this fall!
- Preschool! Big news, Leah will begin a twice weekly two hour preschool program this fall. She's going to LOVE it! Leah's cousin, Charlotte, will be in the same class too. What fun!
