Ruth's Special Day

On Ruth's actual birth day, Monday, January 21st, Mark took the day off from work and we spent a big part of the day doing some of Ruthie's favorite things!  We spent the morning in Seattle enjoying the aquarium and waterfront, and we also took our first ride ever on the Seattle great wheel.  The aquarium was having a special Hawaiian themed week, so we were adorned with leis for most of the morning.  Ruthie enjoyed doing a scavenger hunt, watching a special Hawaiian themed play, and watching her favorite outdoor birds, the puffins.  The great wheel was pricey but a super fun experience, and although it was foggy, we still saw some amazing sights and would be thrilled to do it again.  For lunch we drove to Ruth's favorite restaurant, Rainforest Cafe, where we sat by the gorillas and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the cafe.  For dessert the staff sang Happy Birthday and delivered a special chocolate treat with a sparkler on top!  What fun!  We then went home, relaxed and Ruth played for hours with all the new toys she received for her birthday!
