Family Update

Who we are at the moment...
  • A family who enjoys the summer, especially the back yard, swimming, taking walks and riding bikes! Ruthie loves "summer days", especially when she can wear "summer dresses". Her favorite at the moment is the yellow one in the top left picture.
  • EXCITED! Leah is almost one year old, hallelujah! It has been a tough year in so many regards!!! It will be a real celebration to know we survived these last 12 months.
  • Struggling to get enough sleep, Leah is cutting her front teeth... Which means grouchy Mom, which means grouchy family. :( At the moment Leah has four teeth, two on the bottom and two "vampire" teeth on top. Two more are on the way... Praying we get a little teething break after these teeth make their presence known.
  • ARTISTS! We are trying to do art every day in our art journals. Art journaling has become a new hobby, it's fun and confined. And a great way to express thoughts in word along with artistic expression. Mom and Ruth both have art journals, it's been a fun endeavor with sweet outcomes.
  • Eating take-out more often... However, we learned last night that Leah loves pizza! Unfortunately all this eating out has been because Mark has been super busy with work, leaving early and arriving late = not much help at home. :( BUT...
  • We are now celebrating Mark's hard work and career successes! Hard work always pays off, we are praising God for the cool ways Mark is challenged and rewarded at work. :) This also means he's back to his chores!
  • Trying to be more organized. We are trying with all our might to get more systematic in our home maintenance and organization one room at a time! We are selling baby gear and passing along stuff as quickly as we physically and psychologically can. Notice the cat in the baby swing? That swing hasn't been used in months! BUT, I just listed it on Craigslist and it's in the garage waiting to be sold). Also just dropped off a huge load of stuff at Goodwill! Less is more, right?!

This is my favorite post so far! (Can you tell I'm catching up?) I'm so happy to hear all the things you are, both the successes and the in-process points. I am praying with you for better sleep by now! And I'm celebrating a break in Mark's schedule so you can be together (and so you can have more help). I am also very excited about the art journals...I may borrow this idea from you! Love to you all in all of your ways of being!
