Last Day of Summer?

Ah, doesn't this photo of Mark and Ruth jumping off the dock scream summertime?! On one hand we can not believe Ruth is brave enough to fearlessly jump off the dock; but on the other hand we are thrilled she is so confident with herself and confident in the water. This past weekend may have been the true end of summer here (boo)! With the sunny forecast waning we took advantage of the last 80+ degree day and spent it at one of our favorite beach parks. This specific park holds many special moments for us, and we're thrilled to continue building more joyous memories here (now as a family of 4). Mark and Ruth had a blast in the sand, playing with toys, swimming out to the dock and jumping in the lake repeatedly while me and baby relaxed in the shade. With Leah being just over two weeks at this time, it was nice chance to get out of the house for an afternoon.

In other news, Mark returns to work this week (sad faces here), and we will truly miss him. He has been an amazing husband and father and we are thankful for his presence during this transition time. Along with the typical newborn fatherly tasks such as changing diapers and making dinner, Mark also put together a beautiful swing set in the backyard for Ruth! It is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship that has Mark clamoring for more woodwork to build/create. :) I'll be sure to upload swing set photos soon. Thank you for taking a break from work, Mark. We are so glad you could be here with us. Daddy's girls will miss you everyday...
