Learning to Write

Ruth has always enjoyed scribbling and coloring, and she's now gaining the finer motor skills required to write. We use basic Kumon tracing and maze books, and she has become quite independent tracking her pencil along the illustrated patterns in all directions. She even attempts to write her name - I'll get a picture of that posted soon. This is a fun afternoon activity that Ruthie works on most weekdays, and we are so excited that she is learning to write!

I've never heard of the Kumon tracing and maze books, but looked at some on Amazon.com just now. Awesome method to enhance early writing skills. Ruthie will have great penmanship as she gets older. . . a very important life skill!
