Rice Cereal

Ruth eats RICE CEREAL now! We had initially planned to wait for Ruthie to have "real food" until she was 6-months old, but Ruthie gave us plenty of clues to suggest she was ready for big girl food NOW! These clues were that she would stare at us while we were eating, grab our bowls and plates, waking up at 3 a.m. to eat, which regressed even further to demand feedings at 1 a.m. (NOT COOL)! So we bought a box of rice cereal, made a small bowl, and MY OH MY, she LOVED it! She ate every last bit! It has since become one of our favorite rituals, and we love watching her excitedly eat. She shakes and quivers when the spoon is on the way to her mouth, and she whines when we take too long getting her another spoonful. What a wonderful experience EATING has been thus far! We can't wait to try out new foods and baby puree recipes!

Her first bowl of rice cereal!

Is there any left?

How exciting!!! 1:00 am feedings--ughh. Even I don't have to be up at that hour with Zara. LOL

Way to listen to your baby and your instincts!!!!

Thank you for the details on how much she loves it. It's so neat to get a window into her little (or perhaps I should say "big")personality even with the miles between us.

Completely adorable! Isn't it a blast to watch them get so excited about food. It will be fun to explore new fruits, veggies, and other tastes in these upcoming months! Get out the bibs and changes of clothes! :)
